Is Google one big A/B test?
So after observing retailmenot’s google-induced traffic fluctuating like a waxing tide I’m beginning to form a theory.
Perhaps The Google is constantly trying random new permeations and then measuring the success of those changes. Maybe via use of the back button reported via their toolbar?

I’ve never really understood how people could have surround sound systems without rebuilding half their house.
This goes part of the way to explaining how it could be plausible to run wires everywhere.
